High-Precision Ranging Method of 5G NR Co-Band PRS in Industrial Internet Scenarios

To meet the demand for high-precision positioning in commercial industrial internet scenarios, 3GPP introduced Positioning Reference Signal (PRS) 5G standard. However, PRS signal occupies specific time and frequency resources transmission systems, limiting efficiency of communication to some extent. In this regard, we propose a NR Co-Band model that allows superimposition signals on low-power manner, without requiring additional or causing too much interference signal. Since orthogonal division multiplexing (OFDM) are sensitive synchronization errors, have developed three-stage PRS-based reception scheme. First, an innovative weighted window coarse method is proposed enhance performance capturing at low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Next, cancellation technique utilized remove signals, error corrected through multipath delay estimation. Finally, further improve ranging accuracy, iterative delay-locked loop (DLL) algorithm can achieve tracking accuracy one percent sampling. Simulation real environment tests confirm scheme 0.16 m@90%.
